Spring Block Party!

This past weekend we were so excited to host an amazing spring block party in the community. After posting over 150 flyers to the park and to the surrounding community at the elementary school, we were proud to host a collaboration between three local nonprofits. We are thankful for Sole2Soul and Kingdom Christian Outreach Ministries for partnering with us to not only serve the community with tangible needs, but also share the good news of Jesus to all, no matter the language.

As the Easter season has come and gone, I am caught reflecting on the truths of the resurrection story and how they apply so deeply to every single life. Boy’s Club last week focused on the purpose of Easter and the reason we celebrate what we do.

Fun at Boy’s Club

As we have started up boy’s club on Tuesday nights, it has been a solid mix of fun, laughs, and Jesus. The goal at boy’s club is to not only provide an environment where the boys feel loved and cared for, but also to care for their spiritual health. The main goal is to share the gospel with the older boys who can read and understand the bible so that we can have real conversation, hopefully leading to repentance and salvation. Since there is a mix of boys showing up week to week, the group dynamic is hard to read. However, this week we had boys come who were in the mood to talk, so we did just that.

Valentine’s Day Celebration

What a blessing it has been to be able to serve this community! Just yesterday we had the opportunity to have a Valentine’s Day party at the trailer. We invited all the children and just had fun! There were over 15 children in attendance, which was amazing to see.

Gospel Advance

As some of you may know, it can be hard to share the gospel in public settings the are regulated by state laws. That is the situation we run into when we are tutoring in the elementary school. Public prayer, open devotionals, or even Christ centered games are hard to do. So when specifically speaking to tutoring at the school, it can be hard to discern how to reach the children’ hearts. However, today I had a wonderful opportunity to share God’s word, explain it, and apply it to these young children.

Demo Day

Over the past week, we as a ministry have prayed for and received the $6000 that we needed in order to begin construction of the front porch and shed in order to ensure our trailer’s safety and functionality. This process has been moving fast, but we started demolition this past weekend. The old porch is officially gone and the space is cleared for construction to begin.

Trailer Update

Hello BTR family! I just wanted to hop on here and give some exciting, yet intimidating, news. As some of you know, but some of you may not, this past February we were fortunate enough to purchase a trailer on the grounds of the community we serve. This was a massive step for us because we now have a physical presence with the people, and can provide a space for the care we are trying to provide. When we first purchased the trailer, there were a few thousand dollars of repairs we needed to complete right off the bat. Now that this phase is complete, it is time for us to finish the remainder of the safety hazards that still remain on the property.

Preparing for our Christmas Party

On December 21st, we will host our annual Christmas party for the community! At this event, we will have outdoor games, fun treats, and bible bingo. This is a huge opportunity for us to share the gospel with children and parents alike. In our other weekly services like tutoring, we are limited in the boldness we have with our words, especially being in the public school setting. However, this next week, we will be able to tell our community of the love, joy, and hope found in Christ. Join us in prayer over this event.
